Today I am taking part in the Grow Your Blog party hosted by Vicki from 2 Bags Full .
Over five hundred people have entered their blogs to take part in the fun, to make friends, to gain new readers and to find interesting blogs we love.
Expecting a few of these coming here I want to write a few words about me:
My name is Tina, I am 44 years old (for nearly another month), and I live in South West Germany, in a region called Pfalz (Palatinate), that is known for growing wine, fruit, vegetables, and a rather mild climate. I am a vegetarian so I can eat a lot of local produce. I speak German, English, and French, and I am learning Spanish.
In my spare time after work and on the weekends I love to be outside, to spend time with our four dogs, go for walks and runs and bike rides, to work in the little garden behind the house in which we have flowers, fruit and veggies, and a lawn for the dogs to run around.
I also love to knit and crochet and sometimes cross stitch, and recently I found my love for photography again.
The pond close by |
I started blogging in 2005 (first blog post was on april 21 to be exact), as a log for my knitting in the first place. I had just found out about the SixSoxKnitalong where every two months a new sock pattern was released. I had read a few blogs first without having the urge to write one myself, but then it seemed a good way to show the pictures of my knitting.
I also had wanted to post some pictures of the dogs, and when I thought about what name to choose I came up with "hundgestrickt" that is explained above in my header.
In the beginning I only wrote in German, my native language, sometimes in English for international knitalong posts, or in French for a sweater knitalong with people in France. I also have tried to translate into both foreign languages, but that was just too time consuming, so I am sticking to international English. There is a translating tool button in the side bar for those not understanding English at all.

I hope you enjoy browsing my blog, seeing my dogs (all rescues from Spain/Greece/and local shelters for those that are no longer with us), discovering my surroundings and my garden, and having a look at my knitting and other crafts. You can choose from the labels in the side bar to get you to topics that you are interested in.

Have a good weekend, I will definitely spend part of mine visiting your blogs!

ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thank you for stopping by! Happy belated birthday to you. Nice to know we are the same age... off now to jump over to your blog...
DeleteI think this would be the perfect time to leave a comment and say how much I've enjoyed your blog. I've been visiting since the Sixsocksknitalong (I didn't remember how I got to your blog, but now that you mention that club I belonged to, I know that's where I found you), but I never leave comments. My sister has a very old Jack Russell, so I enjoy your pictures very much and love it when you also post in German because I hardly every practice that language and it does me good to read some. So, greetings from Canada, and keep up the good posts. I am slowly starting to get back into blogging and knittng (after a baby hiatus).
ReplyDeleteSalut Audrey, it is SO nice to hear from you! you have a new follower, too. It's great to know that still if times change and our life changes there is still something in common and I would love to have you comment regularly from now on, if you like what you see :-)
DeleteLiebe Gruesse!

ReplyDeleteHi Dawn, don't worry, the party doesn't stop today! You can visit the blogs from Vicki's list whenever you want! Her blogpost will stay on her site and the GYB picture on her sidebar will take everyone to the post with the list. That way I found great blogs that were on last year's list.

Tina
Hi Tina - just sending a belated thank you for visiting my blog for the GYB party! How lucky are you to get to live in a such a lovely place! I'm looking at nearly 24 inches of snow outside my window right now. I will enjoying reading more about your interesting life there in "German Tuscany" - so far far way from me - and I am very glad I followed you here to your lovely blog. Cindy from TheCranesNest.com
ReplyDeleteHello Tina,
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to meet you and learn about your interests. You live in a very beautiful place and I can tell by the picture it is a worth becoming an avid photographer. I also like very much to take photos and I'm a scrapbooker. I have to admit I am more of a collector of photographs now that they are digital. I've come to visit from GYB today, and I enjoyed reading about your part of the world and interests in it. These days I'm on the road RV-living and that means not often getting a connections or a good one. When I'm back home in Prince Edward Island I plan to get around to all the lovely new people I have met. But for today we are in North Carolina in the middle of a snow storm and it sounds like the ice rain has started, driving will not be the best and we are going to be delayed. Do take care
You are like my cousin in Germany, speaking many languages! I've tried learning German and still scold my Mother for not teaching me when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your pictures and crafting!
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you. Lovely knitting, great pics, and wonderful dogs.

ReplyDeleteLet me share this on your lovely blog, A neighbor of mine developed dementia & diabetes, then her husband died, no children or family nearby. I am thankful our closest neighbor, an African American woman, introduced Dr Itua Herbal Medicine, A traditional herbal doctor in which we purchased a herbal product for her through his Dr Itua online herbs store. A former social worker stepped in and led the way to place the widow in a care facility. We visit nearly every week until she finishes drinking Dr Itua herbal medicines, if possible. The two of us take simple games, puzzles, and matching cards to do with her, staying about 2 hours. Jenga, Trouble, puzzles 100pcs or less, 20 cards to match (total-not 40!). The fishing game where the fish open and shut their mouths as they go around is lots of fun! We sit and chat with her until she gets well again, then we pull out a game and the three of us laugh together as we play. We take a variety of things to do so that we won't get bored. She finished Dr Itua herbal medicines and she's fine now and doing better with the help of Dr Itua herbal medicines, Dr Itua cures different illnesses with his herbal medicines. Anyone having a sick person should reach Dr Itua email drituaherbalcenter@gmail.com Dr Itua Cure Alzheimer's,Cancer,Parkinson,Hiv,Herpes,Hpv,Kidney disease,Diabetes,Hepatitis, We hug and hold hands a lot. Having two of us go together really helps. But I can go alone, my neighbor cannot, as she saw so much of this during her years as a social worker. I hope this specific list helps others in this situation.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
