Green walk

After the unusual heat the day before yesterday it was cool yesterday. There was a thunderstorm with a little rain early in the morning and then more rain in the am. I could go for a long walk with the doggies in the pm with them coming happily along. The dampness and clear air even enhanced the green-ness I think. I took a couple of pictures but they don't do the colours justice, as usual. You can click on the pics to enlarge them.

barley field with poppy sprinkled in - looks so great when the wind goes over it

then there's some different medows with differnet colours dominating

and - not so green but stunning- this morning's sky

Sock knitting

This is the sock I am actually knitting on for Sweetheart.
Yarn is Super SOXX Color, needles 2.25 mm. I love to knit them and he loves the colour. I am knitting toe up, stockinette stitch, heel with gusset and heel-flap, and a long 2/2 ribbing, sewn bind off.

Over here it is so hot today. Too hot for me and the dogs as well as too hot for the season. 33°C in the afternoon. That's temperatures for the hottest days of July or August but definitely not May!

kniting progress

Aberlady is growing! Not right nw, but before that last period of good weather (in which I spent every spare minute outside) when it was cold, windy and rainy - perfect knitting weather! Up to the underarm gussets. I love to knit it!

5k

I did it! I ran my first race. And I am so proud.
My goals were not to cross the finsh line as the last one and to stay under 30 minutes. I did both. 28.36 minutes and 115th out of 169 in total and 11th out of 29 women. I think I like races. Am thinking about running two more in the near future.

Snowy impressions

Actually the snow is gone and we've had some days with temperatures above 0°C and today I finally found the first tip of one of our spring plants in the back garden. We planted gazillions of bulbs last fall. And I can't wait to see all there fresh greens and bright colours!
