Hundgestrickt is a word that I invented combining the German words for "dog" and for "knit" making it similar to "handgestrickt" for handknit (think of "houndknit") as that's what this blog is mostly about :-)
Yes, they are. We have them all year round at the ponds. Nile and Canada goose, and in fall and spring the Grey goose come for a rest on their long journey.
Are the geese already moving to the south in your area? Wow... that is rather early. But you show a clear blue sky, that is great. Hugs to you, Mariette
I have seen and heard cranes passing by here a few times. The first time it was in the evening and it was already dark, so I had no idea where these sounds came from, I just knew it wasn't goose. And got really excited. Still am as soon as I hear them! Amazing birds!

No, Mariette, they stay here all year long, as I wrote above.
DeleteIf that was here I would say they were Cranes. I'm expecting to see them head south any day. Always a very emotional sight.
