Sunday morning

What a beautiful morning again! Cloudless sky, sun shining, I was out at half past six for a short walk, no wind at all, warmer than yesterday, grass wet, with sparkling water drops on the tips. I saw some hares across the field, several different birds including one of the parakeets living near by.
When I came home I had my first cup of tea in the warm morning sun in front of the house, where we have our own private "Bistro Kerbihan" and watched the bees visiting the geraniums and the birds fly over the fields:

This is the socks I have started knitting, for myself, lace-y, right for summer:

Spring garden again

It is this lovely spring day today- sun, extremely blue sky due to the volcano ashes cloud, warm, no wind and I had time to take some pictures.

Impressions from the front yard: lilac, the "Côte Bretonne" part, the first rose of the year (just bought last week, a David Austin rose "English Garden"), narcissus

Then out to the back yard: cherry and pear blossoms, blueberry bush, blackcurrant "tree", white and orange tulips

Blue sky

There is one good thing about the volcano ashes in the atmosphere: the sky, otherwise always with lots of criss-cross of condensation trails as we are kind of close (for a plane at least) to the Frankfurt airport, is of one deep undisturbed blue! Lovely.

Dishcloth Knitalong

As I am taking part in the year long knitalong at Krisknits blog which is a lot of fun, here are my latest creations. Two belly cloths for our white girls. If you are that close to the ground you get dirty SO easily and if you are a princess you need an appropriate soft cloth in a girly colour to wipe that off, don't you? :-))))



This is the March cloth showing an easter basket with a lovely little easter rabbit. Just in time and perfect for our little long eared newbie.
Just seeing that I haven't a picture of Flavie's yet. Will follow.

Flavie and Myrtille play

It is such a fun to watch these two play, either inside or -and even- better on the lawn. And they are so happily tired afterwards.

Flavie never played like that with another dog in those 3 1/2 years she is with us. Myrtille needed 6 days of "hard work" animating her but is lucky in the end. I think Flavie is, too.

This might be an endless source for dog pictures in the future :-)

Spring garden

First of course a picture of our young beauty:

And then a shot of the garden - it's hard now to detail-photograph or detail-work like planting salad with the gang around and always just a second away from mischief :-)

In the front is the perennials bed and everything is coming back to life, it is so exciting to watch. There are narcissus and tulips inbetween as well as a rose with her lavender. Then further away there are the currant bushes, one black, one white and two different reds, part of them already have tiny flowers on them and bees are visiting. Sounds promising for the harvest.

The nestbox at the garden house has already been inspected by a starlet as well as a bluetit. And the nestbox behind the garden house has been visited by redstarts, I hope they'll decide again to raise their offspring in our garden, just as last year.

Zigzag socks are done

And I am glad that they are done! I love how they look and feel and as they are short they will be perfect for spring and summer but I just don't t like to knit with cotton blend sock yarn in such tight gauge. Remaining balls I have (in colours I love) will go into something else than socks, maybe a little Baktus scarf or a zigzag scarf with this same pattern as I like the yarn stripes this way - just at a looser gauge.
